One Finish
I kind of feel like the end of the movie "Batteries Not Included" where the one little guy puts one little tile in place while the whole building remains in shambles! But I finished a baby quilt I started about 12 to 15 years ago! I also finished the linen skirt I was making. And decided to send the vest to my sister so she can turn it for me since that's the only think hanging me up. I finished knitting a cotton hooded baby bath blanket, too. And I decided that one of the beaded necklaces I've been moaning and groaning about will never be finished. I pulled it apart and am going to use the beads to make my sister an eye glass leash that she sorely needs and really wants.
By the end of this week I will have finished knitting a baby bunting for a grand niece who is to be born in the next couple weeks and get it and the other baby projects in the mail!
If you would like to see photos of what I've been up to, I just created a slideshow at my blackwork blog: http://blackworklessons.wordpress.com
Now I'm going to go cross a few things off my list!

Wanda's First UFO
Yesterday I finished off the new project that I started at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. Then I started in on my first UFO. I chose the "Trick or Treat Fairy" by Mirabilia (from a magazine) because the magazine is borrowed. I want to get it back to the owner before I lose it or wreck it.
I started it last summer with hopes of entering it in an Autumn Challenge on one of my Yahoo groups. Then I went to China for work 3 times between Labour Day and the Nov deadline, and I gave up on that idea.
I have a bit of an issue with a dye lot change in the middle of her skirt. I am trying to tell myself that it can't be seen at 50 yards from the back of a galloping horse - but in my heart I know I'm going to frog it out.
Here is the finished project. It is called "Cape Cod Girls", Primitive needle design. I ran out of the thread in the border about 10 inches from the end. A bit surprising, since I actually used it in fewer places than the chart called for. All I can figure out is that they didn't complete each cross as they went when doing the model, even though the whole thing called for WDW overdyed threads.
And here is the UFO. Can you see the colour variation in the skirt? There are about 4 or 5 rows of stitches that are lighter than the rest.
Not sure when I will get more stitches in, but hopefully I will get some time on Friday evening. At least I can be thankful that I'm not heading off to China again anytime soon.
That's it for now. Wanda in Edmonton

Summer Ball
I have finished one page of Summer Ball!!!! I am so excited!!! I am also taking a UFO off my list. I went to gather the supplies and realized that I was missing 3 months of the year long afghan. The designer hasn't designed them yet. So since I don't have all the supplies then I can't stitch it because until the designer designs the missing 3 months, I am not going to waste my time stitching something that may not come to pass!!
MY Bad!!!
Way back in September 2011 I posted my Mega UFO list which was 57and is now 58 UFO's so sometime from then to now I picked up 1 more, lol. I did stitch but not alot. I became a Grandma twice within the last 6 months. My daughter Kristina married and move to Virginia. So my youngest daughter Ashley will be in college this year so I should be able to stitch alot more now. I also decided to cut the list down to 15 and work on those until done and add 1 when I finish one. We will see how that works : )
So here is my list....
1. Puppy Row by Design Works Debbie Cook
2. Cat Row by Design Works Debbie Cook
3. Angels on High Ornaments by Dimensions
4. Frisky Friends Tree Skirt by Dimensions
5. Spirit of Santa Ornaments by Dimensions
6. Snow Friend Ornament by Dimensions
7. Butterfly Afghan by Stoney Creek
8. Black Wolf by Kustom Krafts
9. Howling at the Moon by Kustom Krafts
10. Fire and Ice by Kustom Krafts
11. Autumn Gradeur by Kustom Krafts
12. Christmas Idyle by Stoney Creek
13. Dog Lovers Everywhere by The CrossStitcher
14. Christmas Cats Orn. by Vermillion Stitchery
15. Silent Night by Designs for the Needle
Lets see how I do this year : )

UFOs completed!
I am probably not doing this right, but these are the UFOs I have finished this month. 2 more and I get to start a new project--woo hoo!
This is "Spring is Sprung," by Brightneedle. I had so few stitches in it that I couldn't figure out how to orient the fabric, so started over.
I am going to make this into a scissor fob.
This is "You Lucky Dog" by Just Another Button Company. It's been a UFO since 2008, I think. I need to put the buttons on, but the stitching is done.
This will be a banner for a good friend.
This is a SNN kit from 2006, I did very little of it before putting it aside, because I don't like the threads they used.
Going to another friend as a gift.

UFO Update
I have been working on one of my ufo projects this past week. I made a bit of progress on it, this one is just slow go with all the straw to stitch. This is where I left off as of last night. I hope to have this one finished within the next couple of weeks so I can move on to another of my ufo's.

On the left is my progress through Friday night. Saturday I had to unstitch the white on the lower left a you look at it, I was off a couple of stitches. On the right is my progress through Sunday night. I'm happy with the progress so far, and hope I keep up the momentum. Would love to have this done by summer :) There will be little or no progress this week, daughter is coming for a visit!!
Christina's UFOs
Hi folks, thought to share a pic of my progress so far on this UFO. I have been working on this only on Tuesdays, and believe it will be done in another two sessions, or less! Not sure what to do with it? Pillow, frame it? Keep it, gift it?
Hope everyone as a very productive week...no matter what you do! Best regards, Christina G

My Next Project
Okay, I've rested on my laurels long enough. Now it's time to get back to work. My next UFO is Teresa Wentzler's Wedding Sampler. It's out and up on the frame and in a few minutes I'm going to start in on it again. This is where it is at this point. I'll post new pictures in about two weeks.

Summer Ball -Vickie H
This week was spent stitching on my Summer Ball by Sandy LittleJohn. I was able to finish the fireplace and columns. I still have floating heads but hopefully, they will have bodies next time I pick it up to stitch. This week, I am headed back to Disney to work on my Cinderella's castle!

I have my first finish!
Desert Garden Mandala is done. I finished it up about 8:00 this evening. So one down on my UFO list. I've already mounted the wedding sampler and got it set up to work. I don't think I have the concentration to start it tonight, but the finish has me itching to go to work on the new project. I'll post pictures tomorrow. I took some, but I need to download them from the camera and make sure they're good enough.
Thanks, Vicki. This list has definitely given me new incentive!

A Pledge
This weekend I pulled out a UFO.
SamSarah Design The 1892 Pledge. This was given to us at a retreat that was in March 2010. I had only finished what the border is and on the first block I had stitched some of the blue. The rest I stitched this weekend. Each box is a different shade of blue and each star is a different color. But even in person you really can't tell.

Patti's UFOs
Hi all, my name is Patricia, but just call me Patti (only time I get called the other is when I'm in trouble). I live in Michigan, but was born in Connecticut. I'm a model stitcher for several designers, which is why I have SO many UFOs. Everytime I think I'm able to start something for me, I end up on deadline (which is my job, so I'm not complaining). I don't know what the amount of UFOs anybody else has, but I have 21 (these are the ones I can find). We moved in September and my craft room is the last to be worked on, but have been work stitching that entire time. I have 3 kids (none that live at home); 5 grands; and 4 furbabies.
My list is:
Diligence (my oldest)
All Things (bright & beautiful)
Sanctuary
Patience
Celtic Christmas
Marty Bells - Summerland
TW's Dragon/Castle
Kaleidoscope (not sure I spelled this correctly)
Beside Still Waters
Moulin Rouge
Snow Crystals - SAL
Quaker Mystery
Gingham Girlfriends
Chickens?!
Christmas Quilts
French Country Snowglobe
Vierlanden Sampler - Susanne
Village of Hawk Run Hollow
Ink Circles - Celtic Quilts: Kentucky chain
Miss Crescents Crowne: All in a Sleigh
Peppermint Twist

Comments (Lisa N.)
Happy Hour (Lisa N.)
I've actually made a bit of progress on Happy Hour to my great pleasure! I worked on this in Phuket, Thailand, over Christmas break- it was so relaxing & wonderful...I want to go back!
I've had to set it aside for the moment, as I am participating in the ILCS Winter Smalls Exchange. After that is completed, I plan to return to this piece.
Fare well,
It's worse than I thought! (Lisa N.)
I was digging through my WIP/UFO drawer, looking for my oldest UFO for Evalina's challenge, when I discovered another UFO!
This one is called There Are Fairies at the Bottom of My Garden by The Cat's Whiskers. I picked this up at Needle Ny-dle Noo when I was visiting Perth, Australia, because the lady in the shop said the birds are native to that area of Australia, so I thought it was a great souvenir!
So add that one to my list! LOL

Quilting UFO project
My UFO projects
I've joined a challenge this year to work on my UFOs with the hopes that I get something completed this year. The picture is the most important UFO right now. It's Spiritdancer by Butternut Road. It will be for my youngest grandchild - Addison, who will be 1 in March. Should have posted the start picture, but didn't, so you'll get my January progress so far.
Christina's UFOs
This is a freebie from Jane Greenoff that I started a few years ago but didn't like how it was turning out.
Here is what it looked like Tuesday night when I started work on it.
Here's what it looked like after an hour. I was tired so worked slowly and carefully ;)
I should be done with this in another couple of hours or so. I can't wait to finish my second UFO...this challenge sure is working!

Where to begin?
I am working on a sampler that I started at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. I am nearly finished with it, and will start the UFO Challenge as soon as it is done. In the meantime, a comment that I left on Meari's blog really got me thinking about where to start the challenge. Should I start with the one most nearly finished? Should I start with the I like best? Should I start with the one that is nearly 15 years old and really belongs to my sister back East? :( Decisions, decisions. Will take some photos and upload on the weekend. Maybe, just maybe the sampler will be finished by then, too. Wanda in Edmonton

Christina's UFOs
Hello fellow stitchers, below is the pic of my progress last Tuesday. I will work on this one tonight. I ran out of one of the colors and picked some up at the store...I had used up all of my DMC 321 making Christmas decorations...one can never have enough of 321 or 666.
Below is a pic of prior status before work on it last week. I think its coming along nicely and once the backstitching is done, it will be all right...I hope.
Pam K Introduction & a wee bit of my UFO's
Hello! I'm glad I found you guys! I had just been thinking that it was well past time to do something with my UFO drawer (yes, a drawer...sigh) and there you all were. It's always good to know you're not the only one, isn't it? So...here is a hopefully manageable and doable group of UFO's that I plan to finally finish. From left to right:
Brenda Franklin Designs - Brindle Greyhound I started this shortly after we had to have our sweet girl who looked exactly like this put to sleep and it was just too hard to stitch on. Several years have passed and I now believe I can finally finish it.
Cardan Antiques & Needlework - Lydia Metcalf A mix of over one and over two stitching that I've enjoyed stitching. Why a UFO then? I dunno...kindly insert eye roll here.
Carriage House Samplings - Mrs. Pearson This ended up a UFO because I stitched the interesting stuff first and was left with vast areas of blue and brown to stitch. Sigh.
Cinnamon Heart Needleworks - Folk Art Strawberry Such cuteness that's been in the UFO drawer for a few years. Another case of vast areas of one color to stitch...
Couleur d'Etoile - Madison I have 3 frames waiting for the last sampler to be stitched. Poor #3 has been ignored for at least a couple of years now. That's just silly!
The Gathering Place - Angel's Flower I see a pattern forming here and it's not a good one...stitch the fun parts first and then...
Goode Huswife - Ida Mae Crow Why stitch only this cute girl's head and then relegate her to the UFO drawer? Hmmmm, time for another eye roll.
Queenstown Sampler Designs - Picotees & Peacocks I know the chart cover is here somewhere...I think...okay, I hope.
Wishing you all smoking needles and lots and lots of progress! I'll be back with update pics of my own and to see yours too!
